The fish processing business in Bugangan Village, Kedungwuni District, needs to get a touch of modern management.  The estuary is so that business actors who are members of the Mina Lestari Fish Processing and Marketers Group (Poklahsar) can develop their business wings more freely.

“This business group, which was established more than 10 years, has great potential in the fish processing industry. It includes the processing of pindang fish and smoked fish,” said the Head of Bugangan Village, Mustiyadi, Monday, August 19.

In addition to the main livelihood, small and medium-sized enterprises are one of the flagship programs of their villages. 70 processing members produce in their respective homes. The focus is only on processing smoked fish and pindang fish. Their processed products are sold in markets between sub-districts, to outside areas.

Mustiyadi estimates that the production of pindang and smoked fish can be more developed if it can be marketed more widely. Of course, with the involvement of all parties.” He wants to be a central fish processor like the one in Demak. Because in Pekalongan there is nothing like this. So, if the campus, officials, village governments, and the community synergize with each other, the dream must be realized,” he added.

The Undip KKN team, which is currently running a community service program, expressed its commitment to helping the community in the village. The Head of the Lecturer Team, Darwanto SE MSi MSy, stated that he collaborated on the role of lecturers and students to strengthen modern management for MSMEs.  The strengthening touches aspects, ranging from licensing, and securing food products, to broad marketing of these products.

The Coordinator of the KKN Team, Mochammad Ardani, stated that he accompanied business actors in managing household industry food permits (PIRT) so that the community enjoyed the processed products safely.

Permit management also starts from the stages of food safety counseling (PKP), adjustment of hygienic production sites and according to standards, to packaging processes that can be durable, attractive, and feasible for. “The issuance of PIRT later, makes Mina Lestari products can be marketed more widely. For example, to the modern market,” he added.
