Sharia Economics Students from the UNDIP Community Service Program Assist MSMEs in Kacangan Village in Creating Business Identification Numbers (NIB).

Sragen, January 24, 2026 – Bening Aulia Risqita, a student from the Faculty of Economics and Business, Sharia Economics Study Program, conducted a training and mentoring program for obtaining a Business Identification Number (NIB) for MSMEs in Kacangan Village, Sumberlawang District, Sragen Regency.

This activity took place on Friday (January 24, 2026), targeting one of the village’s culinary MSMEs, the Mie Ayam Bakso (Chicken Meatball Noodle) MSME. This program aims to help entrepreneurs obtain business legality through the Online Single Submission (OSS) system as a first step towards developing a more orderly and competitive business.

NIB as the Foundation for MSME Business Legality
A Business Identification Number (NIB) is an official business identification issued by the government through the OSS system. Owning a NIB offers various benefits, including ease of licensing, opportunities to access business assistance and financing, and increased consumer trust.

In this activity, KKN students explained the importance of business legality and the online NIB registration process. The Mie Ayam Bakso (Chicken Meatball) MSME was directly assisted through creating an OSS account, filling in business data, and issuing the NIB.

The mentoring was conducted in a step-by-step and communicative manner to ensure the entire process was well-understood, especially for business owners unfamiliar with digital systems.

“I haven’t applied for an NIB because I found the process difficult and confusing. With the mentoring from the KKN students, the process became easier to understand, and finally, my business was able to obtain an NIB,” said the owner of the Mie Ayam Bakso (Chicken Meatball) MSME in Kacangan Village.

Collaboration Between Students and Village MSMEs
This mentoring program represents a concrete contribution from KKN students in supporting the economic empowerment of rural communities. Through a personal and educational approach, students strive to raise awareness among MSMEs about the importance of business legality as a foundation for sustainable business development.

Bening Aulia Risqita explained that this activity aims not only to assist with NIB issuance but also to provide long-term understanding for business owners.

“Owning a Business Identification Number (NIB) is the first step towards enabling MSMEs to develop more orderly and have broader opportunities, both in terms of access to assistance and future business development,” said Bening.

Encouraging MSMEs in Kacangan Village to Become More Legal and Independent
With this activity, the Chicken Noodle Meatball MSME in Kacangan Village successfully obtained a Business Identification Number (NIB) as official legal documentation for its business. This success is expected to be the first step in encouraging village MSMEs to move up a class, maintain orderly administration, and have broader business development opportunities in the future.

This training and mentoring activity for NIB creation through the OSS aligns with the role of Diponegoro University Community Service Program (KKN) students in supporting village development by strengthening the local economy based on digitalization and increasing human resource capacity.
