Sragen, January 26, 2026 – Tlogotirto Village, Sragen Regency, is the location for one of the Diponegoro University Community Service (KKN) Team 108 programs, which focuses on empowering the village community, particularly corn farmers. This program, implemented by Sabrina Lailissani, promotes the “Simple Farmer Cash Book” initiative, as an effort to encourage more productive and focused farming management.
This program is motivated by the situation among corn farmers in Tlogotirto Village, most of whom do not maintain orderly farm financial records. Production costs, such as the purchase of seeds and fertilizer, and even corn sales revenue, are often recorded in an unstructured manner, often only estimated. This makes it difficult for farmers to determine the profits and losses of their farming operations.
Through the Simple Farmer Cash Book program, KKN students educate students on the importance of farm financial record-keeping in a simple and applicable manner. The cash book introduced uses a simple format for recording expenses and income throughout a growing season, making it easy for farmers to understand and use.
The program was implemented through outreach activities and direct mentoring for corn farmers. During this activity, the farmer’s cash book was symbolically handed over by the Head of the KTW Dukuh Jengglengan, Mrs. Supriyati, to the corn farmers. This handover demonstrated the support and direct involvement of the women’s farmer group (KTW) in promoting more orderly and sustainable farm economic management.
The KKN students not only provided explanations but also encouraged farmers to practice filling out the cash book based on their own farming experiences. The farmers were enthusiastic and actively discussed production costs and the harvests they had incurred and obtained.
Through this Simple Farmer’s Cash Book work program, Diponegoro University KKN Team 108 students hope to make a tangible contribution to improving the understanding of the productive economy of corn farmers in Tlogotirto Village. This program is expected to be the first step for farmers to manage their farming businesses in a more planned, independent, and sustainable manner.
