Prof. Akhmad Syakir Kurnia Inaugurated as Professor at Diponegoro University
Semarang, January 23, 2025 – Diponegoro University (Undip) officially inaugurated Prof. Akhmad Syakir Kurnia, S.E., M.Si., Ph.D. as a Professor in Economics and Development Studies. The inauguration ceremony took place at Prof. Soedarto Hall, Semarang, attended by academics, family members, and distinguished guests from various institutions.
In his inaugural speech, titled “Policy Credibility: A Critical Review of Behavioral Macroeconomics,” Prof. Syakir emphasized that credibility in economic policy goes beyond mere numbers in government financial reports. He highlighted the importance of government, central banks, and policymakers fostering public trust through good governance, consistent policies, and transparent communication.
This inauguration marks Prof. Syakir’s significant contribution to the field of economics, particularly in advancing behavioral macroeconomics, which plays a crucial role in understanding and shaping modern economic dynamics.
